Pre & Post-surgical Therapy

Prehabilitation is the process of optimizing physical functionality preoperatively to enable the individual to maintain a normal level of function during and after surgery. Prehabilitation training can be a combination of aerobic exercises, strength training, and functional task training to suit individual needs.

Physical therapy is typically required following an orthopedic surgery such as operations on the hip, knee, shoulder, neck, foot, ankles, hands, and spine to facilitate a speedy recovery. Following surgery, bones, muscles and soft tissues undergo a period healing. Failure to use the joint may cause it to heal improperly. This can limit range of motion, flexibility, function of the joint and overall surgical outcome. This makes it essential to complete physical therapy after a surgery.
